Goobne ROAD FC 77 took place on May 30 at Jangchung Arena in Seoul, but the event arrived under unusual circumstances. What was originally promoted as a triple title showcase ended up losing two championship fights in the final stretch, leaving only the atomweight belt on the line. Despite the setbacks, the card delivered competitive matchups, strong performances, and a surprising amount of drama.
The most anticipated fight of the night, the lightweight title bout between champion KAMIL MAGOMEDOV and former champion SI WON PARK, was officially canceled less than a week before the event. PARK suffered complications from cellulitis and underwent surgery, which made a normal weight cut impossible. After discussions with ROAD FC officials and MAGOMEDOV’s team, the fight was preserved as a seventy three kilogram catchweight bout rather than a title contest.
The rivalry between the two fighters had been building since the 2024 tournament. MAGOMEDOV once dismissed PARK as “easy money,” while PARK fired back that the champion was “not as strong as people think.” Fans expected a heated title fight, but the injury forced a compromise. The two still met in the cage, but without the belt on the line.
ROAD FC 77 also lost its flyweight title fight after champion JUNG-HYUN LEE withdrew due to an orbital fracture. With two championship bouts removed from the lineup, the atomweight title fight between interim champion JEONG-EUN PARK and Shooto Infinity League champion SEO-YOUNG PARK became the lone championship match of the evening.
Even with the changes, the event produced clear winners, strong finishes, and several standout performances across the card.
