Tae Gyu Yoon to Face Seung Ho Jung in King of Grappling Superfight

King of Grappling Yoon vs Jung

“S-Gorilla” will meet the man who handed him a split-decision loss at ZFN Origin 4—this time under IBJJF rules.

Tae Gyu Yoon, better known as “S-Gorilla,” will face Seung Ho Jung in a jiu-jitsu superfight at King of Grappling on September 12, 2026.

The match comes just three months after the two fighters met inside the cage at Zombie Fight Night Origin 4. Jung narrowly emerged with a split-decision victory following their two-round contest on June 13.

Their next encounter will take place on the mat, giving Yoon an opportunity to revisit the matchup under a ruleset much closer to his grappling background.

Discovered on Korean Zombie Trip

Yoon was introduced to a wider audience through Korean Zombie Trip, a series hosted by UFC veteran Chan Sung Jung, better known as “The Korean Zombie.”

The show follows Jung as he travels throughout South Korea in search of the country’s best “natural” fighters—competitors who may lack extensive professional experience but possess the toughness, instincts and raw ability to fight.

The selected challengers are tested against Moon Ho Park, a professional welterweight representing Korean Zombie MMA.

Yoon was already a Brazilian jiu-jitsu brown belt when he appeared on the program, but his performance against Park helped separate him from the other fighters featured on the show. He stood out by remaining competitive and demonstrating that his ability extended beyond grappling alone.

That appearance eventually led Yoon to Zombie Fight Night, where he began building his MMA record under the promotion.

From ZFN Rivals to Grappling Opponents

Yoon currently holds a 2–2 record in ZFN competition. His most recent appearance ended in the close split-decision loss to Jung at ZFN Origin 4.

Jung, meanwhile, holds an undefeated 3–0 professional MMA record. He has also competed three times in Road FC bouts contested under modified MMA rules, losing all three. Those results are separate from his official professional MMA record.

Jung may have secured the first victory over Yoon, but the change in format creates a considerably different matchup.

Instead of strikes, cage control and the limited time available for ground exchanges in MMA, the King of Grappling contest will be decided entirely through positional control, sweeps, passes, submission attempts and the scoring system used in IBJJF competition.

For Yoon, it represents a return to the discipline that formed the foundation of his fighting career. For Jung, it is an opportunity to prove that his advantage over Yoon can carry over into a pure grappling environment.

King of Grappling Event Information

King of Grappling will take place Saturday, September 12, at the Arts and Physical Education Building of Myongji College in Seoul. The organizer has specifically clarified that the venue is Myongji College—not Myongji University.

The competition will feature both gi and no-gi divisions, with weight-class and absolute tournaments conducted under IBJJF rules. Same-day weigh-ins begin at 9:00 a.m.

All competitors are required to belong to a clearly identified academy or team, carry personal sports or medical insurance, and be physically fit to participate. Spectator admission is free.

The event’s regular registration period closed on August 23.

Jung left ZFN Origin 4 with the official victory, but the split decision left little separation between the two fighters. On September 12, Yoon will get another chance to settle the matchup—this time without gloves and under the rules of jiu-jitsu.
