After getting back in the win column at ONE Fight Night 47, Stamp Fairtex is turning her attention to MMA with a two-fight plan to earn another shot at atomweight gold.
The former three-sport ONE World Champion earned a hard-fought split-decision victory over two-time WBC Muay Thai World Champion Selina Flores in the atomweight Muay Thai main event of ONE Fight Night 47 on September 4 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.
It wasn’t the dominant performance Stamp wanted, and by her own assessment, she’s still not completely back to her best.
But after everything that has happened over the past two years, getting her hand raised represented another important step.
“I can say Stamp is back, but just like 80 percent — not 100 percent yet,” Stamp said following the fight.
And for her next step, she wants to leave Muay Thai behind temporarily and return to the sport in which she became ONE’s atomweight MMA champion.
Stamp Gets Past Selina Flores
Flores presented Stamp Fairtex with an unusual challenge from the beginning.
The American entered with advantages in height and reach, along with a style built around controlling distance and creating angles. Rather than aggressively chasing Flores around the ring, Stamp deliberately chose to make her opponent come to her.
“My game plan was to let her walk to my game plan,” Stamp explained.
Stamp believed aggressively pressuring Flores would have allowed the “Teep Queen” to dictate the exchanges.
Instead, she stayed patient and looked to counter as Flores moved forward.
Across three rounds, Stamp mixed body kicks with punches, knees from the clinch and even a spinning attack as she attempted to rediscover the striking form that helped make her one of ONE Championship’s biggest stars.
Stamp Fairtex believed she did enough through the opening two rounds to secure the victory.
“I think I won in the first and the second, and I think I had a lot of good punches and a lot of damage,” she said.
The third round was different.
Stamp admitted afterward that she wasn’t active enough, something that contributed to a much closer result than she wanted.
When the scorecards were announced, two judges sided with Stamp, giving her the split-decision victory and improving her professional striking record to 66-18.
‘Stamp Is Back’ — But Only 80 Percent
Winning wasn’t enough for Stamp to leave Lumpinee completely satisfied.
For a fighter who has reached championship level in Muay Thai, kickboxing and MMA, her expectations extend beyond simply having her hand raised.
“I can say Stamp is back, but just like 80 percent — not 100 percent yet,” Stamp said. “Because I should take more action.”
The split decision particularly bothered her.
Stamp was confident she deserved the victory, but she wanted a performance convincing enough to leave no disagreement among the judges.
“I believe in myself that I won this fight,” she said. “But I was just disappointed in myself, that it’s not three judges, just two judges. So I’m happy but still disappointed.”
Still, the significance of another successful appearance shouldn’t be overlooked.
Stamp’s career was dramatically interrupted in 2024 when she suffered a serious injury while preparing to defend her ONE Atomweight MMA World Championship.
The resulting rehabilitation kept her away from competition for an extended period and eventually led to her relinquishing the MMA championship in 2025.
Now she’s competing — and winning — again.
And MMA is back at the top of her agenda.
Stamp Wants Chihiro Sawada
Stamp Fairtex isn’t being subtle about what she wants next.
Her next fight, if she gets her way, will be MMA.
“Yeah, it is still the plan,” Stamp said. “I think the next fight I want to fight in MMA.”
She then made a direct request to ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.
“Please, Chatri, let me fight that game.”
Stamp said she’s willing to face anyone, but one name immediately came to mind: Chihiro Sawada.
The Japanese contender has established herself as a major player in ONE’s atomweight MMA division, making her a potentially significant test for Stamp’s return to the sport.
“I can fight anyone, but I think it’s Chihiro,” Stamp said. “Chihiro, she is very good. So it might be a good fight if I fight with her.”
For Stamp, a matchup with Sawada would be about considerably more than simply returning to MMA.
It could become the first stage of her attempt to reclaim something she never lost inside the Circle.
The Atomweight Belt Is Vacant Again
Stamp Fairtex captured the ONE Atomweight MMA World Championship in 2023, completing one of the most remarkable accomplishments in ONE history after previously holding world championships in Muay Thai and kickboxing.
Her championship reign was ultimately derailed by injury.
While Stamp recovered, Denice Zamboanga eventually claimed the atomweight crown. Zamboanga has since vacated the championship as she steps away from competition to embrace motherhood.
That means the belt Stamp once held is vacant once again.
And Stamp wants it back.
She isn’t asking ONE to immediately put her into a championship fight, however.
Instead, she has laid out a clear path.
“I will ask for two fights for MMA,” Stamp said, “and then I will ask for [a shot at] the belt.”
It’s an approach that would allow Stamp to test herself after her lengthy absence from MMA while rebuilding toward championship level.
Sawada could be the first step.
Then things could become even more interesting.
Allycia Hellen Rodrigues Could Follow Stamp Into MMA
There is another familiar name potentially entering the atomweight MMA picture.
Reigning ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues has expressed interest in testing herself in MMA.
Rodrigues and Stamp already have history.
The two met under Muay Thai rules in 2020, with Rodrigues defeating Stamp by majority decision to capture the ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Championship.
Six years later, their rivalry could potentially move into an entirely different sport.
Stamp welcomed the possibility.
“I just want to say welcome to the MMA world,” Stamp said. “Someday we will fight soon. Maybe in MMA, or Muay Thai again.”
For Stamp, the rule set doesn’t matter.
“I can fight with her under any [rule set].”
The Road Back to the Belt Begins
Stamp’s victory over Flores wasn’t flawless.
She knows that better than anyone.
She wanted more activity. She wanted all three judges. And when asked to assess her own comeback, she stopped at 80 percent.
But Stamp Fairtex is fighting again.
More importantly, she is once again talking about the ONE Atomweight MMA World Championship.
The injury that interrupted her reign prevented Stamp from defending the title she won in 2023. Now, with the championship vacant and her return gathering momentum, an unexpected road back to that belt has opened.
She isn’t asking to skip the line.
Two MMA fights.
Then the title.
Whether the first comes against Chihiro Sawada — or whether Allycia Hellen Rodrigues eventually joins her in the MMA ranks — remains up to ONE Championship.
But after ONE Fight Night 47, Stamp has made her intentions clear.
“Stamp is back.”
Maybe only 80 percent for now.
But she’s coming for the other 20.
