Pawel Jaworski Wins Four IBJJF Golds in Eight Days After Historic ADCC Run

Pawel JaworskI

Polish grappling star Pawel Jaworski has continued his remarkable 2026 campaign, collecting four IBJJF gold medals in just eight days after winning the under-88kg division at the ADCC World Championship in September.

Jaworski added another double-gold performance at the Lisbon International Open No-Gi on October 10, winning both the heavyweight and open-class divisions. The result came just days after he secured gold in his division and the open class at the 2026 IBJJF Pan No-Gi Championship in New Jersey.

The latest results underline Jaworski’s ability to maintain his competitive momentum while testing himself against opponents across different weight categories. His decision to compete at heavyweight in Lisbon was particularly notable, as he normally builds his no-gi campaign around the medium-heavyweight division.

What Is the IBJJF? Understanding the Organisation Behind Major BJJ Tournaments

The International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) is one of the sport’s leading competition organisations, overseeing major tournaments across gi and no-gi grappling. Its events attract elite athletes from around the world, with competitors divided into weight classes and belt levels. The organisation stages prestigious competitions, including the European Championship, Pan Championship and World Championship, making IBJJF titles important achievements for athletes seeking recognition on the international Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu circuit.

Pawel Jaworski Repeats His Double-Gold Success in Lisbon

At the Lisbon International Open No-Gi, Jaworski defeated Matheus Medeiros Paiva of Nous Dojo to claim heavyweight gold before going on to win the open-class division.

The open-class competition included super-heavyweight winner Luuk van Nieuwamerongen, who finished with silver, while Paiva and Sebastian Sonntag shared bronze. Jaworski’s victories gave him another pair of titles in a competition featuring athletes from different weight divisions.

His performance followed a similarly successful outing at the Pan No-Gi Championship, held from October 2–4 in Secaucus, New Jersey. There, Jaworski won gold in medium-heavyweight and the open class, adding to an already impressive collection of major no-gi titles.

Historic ADCC Triumph Put Poland on the Map

Jaworski’s current run follows his landmark victory at the 2026 ADCC World Championship in Kraków, Poland, in September. Competing in the under-88kg division, he became the first Polish grappler to win an ADCC world title.

He defeated Sweden’s Marlon Tajik in the final, securing the championship in front of a home crowd at Tauron Arena. His victory was a major milestone for Polish grappling and strengthened his reputation as one of the leading competitors in the modern no-gi scene.

Jaworski is particularly known for his leg-lock game, including heel hooks and the entries used to create submission opportunities. His success across elite no-gi tournaments has made him a prominent figure in a competitive field where technical specialisation, positional control and the ability to finish matches can be decisive.

What Comes Next for Jaworski?

Jaworski’s schedule suggests that the Lisbon event is part of a wider campaign rather than an isolated appearance. He is listed for the IBJJF European No-Gi Championship in Lido di Ostia, Italy, later in October, where he is expected to return to medium-heavyweight competition.

He also competes in submission grappling for ONE Championship. In September, he submitted Rafael Lovato Jr. at ONE Fight Night 47, following a title-match loss to Tye Ruotolo earlier in the year. Those appearances show that Jaworski is building his profile across both tournament jiu-jitsu and professional submission grappling.

The immediate achievement, however, is clear: four IBJJF gold medals in eight days, coming shortly after a historic ADCC championship. By moving up a weight class and winning again in Lisbon, Jaworski has added another significant chapter to a breakthrough season for Polish jiu-jitsu.
