The beef didn’t start with a gym video and according to Myung Hwan Kim, it won’t end unless someone brings ₩100 million to the table.
Some MMA rivalries start with trash talk.
Others start after someone allegedly sneaks into your gym, films a video without permission, and leaves before you can even say hello.
According to Korean MMA fighter Myung Hwan Kim, better known as “Mammoth,” that’s exactly what happened with fellow fighter and YouTuber Myung Jun Sung.
In a recent interview promoting a potential Yatcha Club contract fight, Kim finally gave his side of the story—and while he isn’t begging for the matchup, he definitely isn’t closing the door either.
“He Came, Filmed, and Ran Away”
According to an interview with Won Jin Choi, Myung Hwan Kim says he didn’t even know Myung Jun Sung had visited his gym until other people started sending him clips.
Apparently, he’d already blocked Sung on social media, so he completely missed the video.
According to Kim, Sung showed up while he was coaching his morning fighters, filmed inside the gym without permission, and then left before any confrontation could happen.
Kim admitted he was angry but didn’t spend much time dwelling on it.
“I was upset, but I’d rather he just go his own way.”
It’s not exactly the fiery response some fans might have expected, but it doesn’t mean the bad blood isn’t real.
This Beef Didn’t Start Yesterday
The tension apparently goes back much further than a surprise gym visit.
Kim says everything changed after his loss to Rocky in July 2024.
According to him, Sung wanted to fight—but only after recovering from ACL surgery, which meant Kim would have to wait well over a year.
Kim says he actually agreed.
“Recover first, then we’ll fight.”
But here’s where things allegedly fell apart.
Kim claims Sung didn’t just ask him to wait—he also wanted Kim to avoid taking any other fights until then.
Why?
Because, according to Kim, Sung believed Kim’s value had dropped after the Rocky loss and wanted to preserve the matchup.
Understandably, Kim wasn’t thrilled with that idea.
And that’s when the relationship went downhill.
Need Surgery… But Still Fighting
Away from the drama, one of the more interesting parts of the interview was Kim talking honestly about where he is in his career.
He says his body needs multiple surgeries.
He’s fighting through injuries.
And he knows it.
But stepping away isn’t really an option.
Between paying the bills and keeping his gym running, Kim says he has to keep competing.
His dark sense of humor even made an appearance when he joked that his dream was simply to “die inside the cage.”
Not exactly doctor-approved, but you have to respect the commitment.
Want the Fight? Bring ₩100 Million.
So… would Kim still fight Myung Jun Sung?
Absolutely.
But he has one condition.
Kim laughed about Sung often talking about money and huge fight purses before throwing out his own number.
₩100 million.
No negotiations.
No phone calls.
Just send a text message.
“If you’ve got ₩100 million ready, send me a text.”
Honestly, it’s one of the cleaner callouts you’ll hear in combat sports.
Will It Actually Happen?
That’s the million—or rather 100 million won—question.
The rivalry clearly isn’t manufactured overnight, and both men have now publicly addressed one another more than once.
Whether Yacha Club can actually put the fight together is another story.
But if someone is willing to put the money on the table?
Myung Hwan Kim sounds ready to answer the text.
