The former KTK and HERO champion says signing with ONE Championship is only the beginning of his pursuit to become a world champion.
South Korean kickboxing standout Hyung Woo Jung has officially announced that he has signed with ONE Championship, marking the biggest opportunity of his professional career.
Sharing the news on social media, Jung described the promotion as the “dream stage” he has pursued for years while making it clear that simply reaching ONE Championship is not the end goal.
“I’ve reached the stage I’ve dreamed of, but I haven’t achieved my dream yet. I will continue working hard so that one day I can become a world champion.”
The announcement comes after years of establishing himself as one of South Korea’s most accomplished young kickboxers.
One of Korea’s Most Decorated Young Champions
At just 22 years old, Hyung Woo Jung has compiled an impressive 17-5 professional record with 11 knockouts, capturing championships across multiple Korean promotions while developing into one of the country’s top lighter-weight strikers.
His championship résumé includes:
- Former KTK 53 kg Champion
- Former KPKB 53 kg International Champion
- Current KTK 56 kg Champion
- Current HERO 57 kg Champion
Jung is also known for living by the motto “粉骨碎身”, a phrase meaning “to work until your bones are ground to dust and your body is broken.” The expression reflects the relentless work ethic that has defined his rise through Korea’s kickboxing scene.
Thanking Those Who Helped Him Reach the Global Stage
In his announcement, Jung thanked the coaches, promoters and supporters who helped him reach the world’s largest martial arts organization.
He first expressed his gratitude to Chai Gym head coach Kwang Min Lee, crediting his longtime mentor for training alongside him every day without taking a single day off.
Jung also thanked Nae Chul Kim for creating the opportunity that ultimately led to his signing with ONE Championship.
Hyun Woo Jung further acknowledged Tae Gyu Park of KTK Korea and Jong Yoon Choi of HERO Korea for providing him opportunities to gain valuable experience competing throughout South Korea. He also thanked interpreter Sang Won Yoon, who supported him during his competitions in Japan.
Finally, Jung expressed his appreciation to the fans who have supported him throughout his journey.
The Dream Is Just Beginning
Although signing with ONE Championship represents the biggest milestone of his career so far, Hyung Woo Jung made it clear that he does not view the contract as the finish line.
Instead, he believes it is only the first step toward an even greater goal.

With multiple domestic titles already on his résumé and an impressive finishing rate of 11 knockouts in 17 victories, Jung now prepares to test himself against elite international competition inside ONE Championship.
