Team MAD Kyungsung University
Team MAD Kyungsung University (팀매드 경성대) is one of the flagship Busan branches of the wider Team MAD network, one of South Korea’s most respected mixed martial arts organizations.
Located in the Kyungsung University district of Busan, the gym serves both aspiring amateur athletes and professional MMA competitors, combining striking, wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and strength and conditioning within a unified MMA curriculum. Sung Hoon Yang – Founder & Head Coach (Team MAD)
The entire Team MAD organization is led by Sung Hoon Yang (양성훈), one of the pioneers of modern Korean mixed martial arts coaching. Since founding Team MAD in 2005, Yang has built a coaching system that has produced numerous international-level competitors, including athletes who have competed in the UFC, ONE Championship, and other major promotions. His philosophy emphasizes developing complete mixed martial artists while allowing each fighter to refine techniques that fit their own physical attributes and personality rather than creating identical competitors.

While public sources list limited official staff for the Kyungsung University branch, the gym operates as part of Team MAD’s integrated coaching network. Team History
Team MAD itself was founded in Busan in 2005 and has grown into one of South Korea’s premier MMA organizations, producing internationally recognized fighters including Ham Seo Hee, Kyung Ho Kang, and Ok Rae Yoon, among many others. Under Sung Hoon Yang’s leadership, Team MAD expanded beyond its original headquarters into a nationwide affiliation of branches, with Team MAD Kyungsung University opening in 2015 as one of its key Busan locations.
Team MAD Kyungsung University branch quickly established itself as a development center for emerging talent, benefiting from its close integration with Team MAD’s professional roster and coaching staff. Fighters from the gym regularly compete across Korea’s regional and national MMA promotions, while promising prospects move into larger professional organizations such as Black Combat, ROAD FC, and other major Asian promotions.
In recent years, the Team MAD Kyungsung University branch has gained additional recognition through fighters like Jung Min Park, whose performances and growing profile have showcased the gym’s emphasis on disciplined training, technical growth, and continuous improvement.
