P-Boy MMA

P-Boy MMA (피보이 MMA) is a modern mixed martial arts academy based in Songpa-gu, Seoul, founded and led by former ONE Championship title challenger Won Il Kwon (권원일).
The gym combines high-level professional fight training with a welcoming atmosphere designed for everyday members, offering instruction in mixed martial arts, kickboxing, boxing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Located just a one-minute walk from Songpa Station, the academy emphasizes a semi-personal training (Semi-PT) model that provides members with individualized coaching in a group environment, making combat sports accessible to beginners, fitness enthusiasts, and aspiring competitors alike.
Although P-Boy MMA is a relatively young academy compared to many of Korea’s long-established gyms, it has quickly established itself as one of Seoul’s rising MMA teams. Its connection to Won Il Kwon’s international career has attracted athletes looking to learn directly from an active world-class competitor, while the gym’s philosophy balances competitive excellence with an enjoyable and supportive training culture.

Head Coach — Won Il Kwon (권원일)
P-Boy MMA is owned and operated by Won Il Kwon, one of South Korea’s most accomplished bantamweight mixed martial artists. Known internationally by his nickname “Pretty Boy,” Kwon built his reputation competing in ONE Championship, where he became a top-ranked bantamweight contender and challenged for the ONE Bantamweight World Championship. His aggressive striking, finishing ability, and experience competing against elite international opposition form the foundation of the gym’s coaching philosophy.
Under Kwon’s leadership, members receive instruction in:
- Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)
- Boxing
- Kickboxing
- Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
- Competition preparation
- Functional strength and conditioning
The academy promotes a hands-on coaching style, with instructors actively participating in classes and providing frequent technical corrections through its Semi-PT system. Rather than separating recreational members from competitive athletes, P-Boy MMA encourages everyone to train together while receiving individualized attention based on experience and goals.
Team History

P-Boy MMA was established to bring professional-level MMA coaching to the Songpa district while creating an environment where people of all ages could enjoy combat sports. Drawing on Won Il Kwon’s experience competing on the international stage, the academy was built around the belief that elite technical instruction should be accessible to both aspiring fighters and recreational members.
The gym initially opened in the Munjeong area before expanding its presence with a dedicated Songpa Station location, reflecting the academy’s continued growth and increasing membership. The move positioned P-Boy MMA in one of eastern Seoul’s busiest neighborhoods, making high-quality MMA training more accessible to the local community.
Despite its relatively recent establishment, P-Boy MMA has already produced and developed professional competitors across Korean and international promotions. Fighters representing the gym have competed in organizations including ONE Championship, ROAD FC, Angel’s Fighting Championship, Black Combat, Deep, and regional events. Notable athletes associated with the team include:
- Won Il Kwon
- Da Eun Jung
- Azizbek Norov

As the academy continues to grow, P-Boy MMA has developed a reputation for producing well-rounded strikers who complement their stand-up skills with modern mixed martial arts fundamentals. The combination of active professional coaching, structured daily instruction, and a welcoming team culture has positioned P-Boy MMA as one of Seoul’s emerging gyms for both competitive athletes and recreational practitioners.
