1. Overview

DK Gym (DK Multi Gym / DK멀티짐) is a mixed martial arts gym located in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province, just north of Seoul. The gym offers instruction in MMA while also incorporating striking and grappling disciplines to prepare athletes for amateur and professional competition. Over the years, DK Gym has produced competitors for Korean promotions while serving recreational members and beginners looking to learn martial arts.
Today, DK Gym has become one of the recognizable MMA teams in the northern Seoul metropolitan area, with fighters regularly competing in domestic organizations.
2. History
Public records indicate that DK Gym has been active since at least the mid-2010s, with athletes competing in Korean amateur and professional MMA events.
The gym has steadily developed regional talent rather than focusing solely on signing established professionals. Its fighters have appeared in organizations such as:
Black Combat
ROAD FC
Angel’s Fighting Championship (AFC)
regional amateur MMA tournaments
One of the gym’s biggest recent success stories has been the emergence of Seung Chul “Flash” Lee, who has become one of South Korea’s rising lightweight prospects and helped bring additional attention to the team.
DK Gym has also welcomed international athletes training in Korea, reflecting the increasingly global nature of the Korean MMA scene.
3. Coaching Staff
DK Gym is led by an experienced coaching team that includes former and current champions from Korean and international mixed martial arts.
As the only dedicated MMA gym in Uijeongbu, the academy places a strong emphasis on technical instruction, athlete development, and creating a safe environment for students of all skill levels.
Head Coaching Team
The coaching staff includes Seung Chul “Flash” Lee, a former ONE Championship competitor who now serves as one of the gym’s lead MMA instructors. Drawing from his experience competing on one of Asia’s largest MMA stages, Lee provides technical instruction for both aspiring competitors and recreational students.
The gym is also supported by Ho Myung Hwang, the former MAX FC Champion, who serves as an advisor (Senior Advisor/Consultant). His championship experience in kickboxing adds valuable striking expertise to the gym’s coaching staff and fighter development.
Training Philosophy
DK Gym’s coaching philosophy focuses on making mixed martial arts accessible while maintaining a high standard of instruction. The gym offers structured MMA classes five days per week, allowing beginners to build fundamentals while giving experienced athletes opportunities to refine their skills.
Students train under the direct supervision of the coaching staff, with controlled and safe light sparring incorporated into regular classes to develop practical experience without compromising safety.
The curriculum combines striking, grappling, and cage-based MMA techniques, helping members progress from recreational fitness training to amateur and professional competition if they choose.
