Chang Min Yoon recently posted on his instagram (@thebigheart_yoon) where he reflected back at the years he spent fighting and realized how quickly they had passed. He called mixed martial arts an irrational sport because two people enter and only one leaves as the winner. He said that even when a fighter does everything right there is no guarantee of success. He remembered the injuries that marked his early career. The orbital fracture. The broken nose. The shoulder problems that kept returning. None of them pushed him away. He loved the sport enough to keep moving forward.
He asked himself whether losing in the Road to UFC semifinals at thirty two meant he should suddenly become rational and lower his expectations. He rejected that idea. He said he wanted to spend the remaining years of his career being more irrational and more reckless and more daring. He wanted to return to the mindset he had when he first fell in love with fighting. He said that if an opportunity came he would attempt another run at the UFC. He also said that even if it never came he wanted to be the kind of fighter who made fans say that his fights were exciting whether he won or lost.

He is now preparing for his next fight with coach Won Hee Jung. He is discussing strategy and shaping his style with a sense of excitement. He expects to fight again around August and he asked fans to look forward to it. That timeline became clearer after the recent ZFN event where Gyu Tae Seo defeated Chan Soo Park in an upset and immediately called out Chang Min Yoon. Yoon watched the fight and responded with calm acceptance. He said the fight was great and the call out made sense and he had no reason to refuse. He said he heard ZFN was planning an event in August and suggested they make the fight then.

Gyu Tae Seo defeated Chan Soo Park by an impressive TKO by punches in 2:06 of Round 2 at ZFN 04 held on May 9, 2026. Seo advances to 3-1 in his professional MMA career and this should be a great fight for MMA fans around the world.
The likely matchup between Chang Min Yoon and Gyu Tae Seo now hangs over the summer. It represents more than a return to competition. It reflects the mindset Yoon has chosen for this stage of his career. He is not chasing safety. He is not trying to become rational. He is choosing the version of himself that fights with heart and instinct and a willingness to take risks. He is choosing the path that made him fall in love with the sport in the first place.
