Black Combat releases “100 Busan Tough Guys vs. 5 Pro Fighters” ahead of Korea vs. Mongolia
Amugae Kim’s search for a Black Combat debut opponent has taken center stage after the promotion released its new promotional video, “100 Busan Tough Guys vs. 5 Pro Fighters.” Filmed in Yeongdo, Busan, the video follows Black Combat CEO Pyeong Hwa Park and several Busan-based fighters ahead of the organization’s upcoming Korea vs. Mongolia event, while revealing that the fan challenge doubled as a live scouting event for Kim’s first professional opponent.
Black Combat has officially released the promotional video tied to its Busan fan challenge, revealing that the event served a much larger purpose than simply giving fans a chance to test themselves against professional fighters.
A few weeks ago, HanPunch reported that Black Combat would give Busan fans the opportunity to earn a fight against the “Pure Fighter” standout. The newly released video adds significant context, showing that the challenge was designed as a live scouting event rather than a simple promotiwoonal attraction.
Black Combat Came to Busan With Three Goals
Early in the video, Park explains that the Busan visit was built around three objectives.
The first was to promote Black Combat’s upcoming Korea vs. Mongolia event while highlighting the organization’s growing connection with Busan and its local fighters. The visit also created opportunities for fans to meet Black Combat athletes through public activities and interactive challenges.
The third objective, however, became the video’s defining story: finding the right opponent for Amugae Kim’s long-awaited Black Combat debut.
Rather than announcing a matchup behind closed doors, Black Combat chose to turn the search into a public event, allowing local fighters, martial artists, and confident fans to prove themselves directly in front of the promotion.
Amugae Kim’s Long Road to Black Combat
Park shares that his relationship with Amugae Kim began roughly a year earlier when Kim traveled to meet him at Black Combat’s Seongsu headquarters hoping to earn an opportunity with the promotion.
According to Park, Kim wasn’t simply asking for a chance. He had already stepped away from his regular job to pursue mixed martial arts full-time, believing he could build a future through fighting.
Instead of immediately offering him a contract, Park chose to watch how Kim’s journey unfolded.
A year later, Amugae Kim was still training, still pursuing the same goal, and still committed to becoming a Black Combat fighter. That persistence ultimately convinced Park that Kim deserved an opportunity.
Rather than handing him an easy matchup, however, Black Combat decided to build Kim’s debut around the same fighting spirit that had earned the promotion’s respect in the first place.
Searching for the Right Opponent
The Busan fan challenge became an open audition.
Participants were invited to test themselves through several activities, including a “human heavy bag” challenge and boxing sparring sessions against Black Combat professionals. While the event provided entertainment for spectators, Park explains that the promotion was also looking for someone who possessed the toughness, ability, and story to potentially face Amugae Kim.
The emphasis was not on finding an inexperienced opponent to build Kim’s record.
Instead, Park makes it clear that Black Combat wants Kim’s first fight to carry meaning. The ideal opponent would be someone whose competitive level and personal journey create a compelling matchup worthy of Amugae Kim’s debut.
That philosophy reflects Black Combat’s broader promotional identity, where regional pride, individual stories, and authentic personalities often carry as much weight as win-loss records.
