Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley shares his fight IQ as he helps prepare Seok Hyeon Ko for his upcoming UFC Fight Night matchup against Jean Paul Lebosnoyani.
Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley continues to make an impact during his visit to South Korea, and the latest episode of Stun Gun TV offers fans an inside look at how one of the sport’s most accomplished fighters approaches coaching and film study.
While Woodley’s trip began with Korean food and sightseeing alongside Dong Hyun Kim, the focus quickly shifted to business as he arrived at Havas MMA to spend the day training with the gym’s fighters. Throughout the video, one thing became immediately apparent, Woodley was constantly looking for ways to help Seok Hyeon Ko prepare for his upcoming UFC assignment.
From Lunch to Fight Camp
Even before arriving at the gym, Woodley’s attention was already on the day’s training.
During lunch, he repeatedly asked the coaching staff about the training schedule, wanting to know exactly what was planned for the afternoon. Rather than treating the visit as a casual appearance, Woodley showed genuine curiosity about Havas MMA’s preparation and how he could contribute.
Once training began, his focus immediately shifted toward Seok Hyeon Ko.
As HanPunch previously reported, Ko is scheduled to face Jean Paul Lebosnoyani on July 18 at UFC Fight Night in Oklahoma City, making every training session increasingly important as fight night approaches.
Breaking Down the Film

While the fighters were warming up, Woodley asked to watch footage of Lebosnoyani.
Within moments of studying the tape, he began identifying patterns.
According to Woodley, the first thing that stood out was that Lebosnoyani appeared eager to avoid wrestling exchanges and preferred to keep the fight standing.
He then asked an important question.
“Is Seok Hyeon Ko orthodox or southpaw?”
As the coaching staff continued reviewing the footage, Woodley pointed out that although Lebosnoyani switches stances throughout the fight, he believes the Georgian fighter is naturally an orthodox striker.
“He strikes from orthodox, but he kicks and touches from southpaw,” Woodley explained.
That observation led directly to one of his key tactical recommendations.
Pressure the Switch

Woodley suggested that Ko should pressure his opponent whenever he transitions into a southpaw stance.
In his view, that brief moment during the stance switch presents an opportunity to close distance and force exchanges before Lebosnoyani becomes comfortable.
Woodley explained that very few fighters are equally effective fighting from both stances.
The only athlete he has personally seen defend seamlessly from both orthodox and southpaw, he said, was former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson.
For most fighters, he believes changing stances naturally creates small defensive openings that experienced opponents can exploit.
That insight immediately caught the attention of everyone in the room.
Dong Hyun Kim: “He’s Different”
After listening to Woodley’s analysis, Dong Hyun Kim admitted he was impressed.
Despite only watching a short segment of tape, Woodley had already identified details that gave the coaching staff another perspective on the matchup.
Dong Hyun Kim described Woodley as “different,” praising how quickly the former UFC champion processed the footage and recognized strategic tendencies that others might overlook.
The exchange highlighted the value of experience gained from competing against the world’s best fighters over nearly a decade in the UFC.
Sharing Championship Experience

The remainder of the visit featured Woodley working directly with Havas MMA athletes, offering technical advice and sharing concepts developed throughout his championship career.
The episode concluded with a sneak peek of the next video featuring a light sparring and technical exchanges between Woodley and Dong Hyun Kim, giving fans a nostalgic moment as the two former UFC competitors once again shared the mats years after facing each other inside the Octagon.
While much of the visit has focused on friendship and cultural experiences, the latest Stun Gun TV episode demonstrates another side of Woodley. His ability to quickly evaluate an opponent, identify tactical weaknesses, and communicate practical adjustments offered Havas MMA’s fighters a valuable look inside the mindset of a former UFC world champion.
With Seok Hyeon Ko’s July 18 matchup approaching, insights like these could prove valuable as Havas MMA continues refining its game plan for one of the biggest fights of Ko’s career.
