The Uljin Fighting Championship 5 (UFC) will take place over July 17–18 at the Uljin County Citizens’ Gymnasium in South Korea.
Organized by the Uljin County Boxing Association and the Uljin County Sports Council, Uljin Fighting Championship 5 has grown into one of the country’s notable regional mixed martial arts showcases, bringing together competitors from across Korea in both amateur and professional competition.
This year’s event comes at an important time for Korean MMA, with the sport officially included in the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. As a result, the championship serves not only as a competitive platform for rising athletes but also as a stage highlighting the continued development of MMA within South Korea.
The two-day card features 47 bouts split between amateur and professional divisions, giving fans the opportunity to watch emerging prospects alongside experienced competitors. Beyond the fights themselves, organizers have positioned the championship as a sports and cultural festival, combining combat sports with community events designed to attract both dedicated MMA followers and local families.
For the second consecutive year, the event will be broadcast live nationwide through the official Uljin Fighting Championship YouTube channel and Yang-Gam-Sak TV, one of Korea’s largest MMA-focused YouTube channels with approximately 600,000 subscribers. The livestream is expected to significantly expand the promotion’s reach while showcasing Uljin County as a destination for sports tourism.
Local officials also view the championship as an economic driver. Uljin County plans to continue attracting national sporting events as part of a broader strategy to promote tourism, strengthen its sporting infrastructure, and stimulate the regional economy. As the promotion reaches its fifth edition, Uljin Fighting Championship continues to establish itself as both a competitive proving ground for Korean MMA talent and an important annual event for the local community.
