Event Overview

Top Fighting Championship 22 (TFC 22) marked a significant milestone for one of Korea’s longest-running mixed martial arts organizations, as Top Fighting Championship (TFC) staged its first event inside the newly opened TFC Dream Center in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province.

The dedicated MMA venue represents a new chapter for the promotion, reflecting TFC’s long-term commitment to developing Korean talent and providing athletes with a permanent home for high-level competition.

The event featured eight professional bouts, with three preliminary contests followed by a five-fight main card, and was broadcast live through TFC Korea MMA’s YouTube channel, making it accessible to fans across Korea and internationally.

Headlining the card was former UFC light heavyweight Da Woon Jung, who made his return to the Korean regional scene against former PFL heavyweight Mickael Groguhe in a heavyweight main event. The matchup highlighted TFC’s continued ability to attract internationally experienced fighters while giving Korean veterans a major platform at home. The co-main event showcased rising featherweight contender Min Jae Lee against Russia’s Igor Kim, further emphasizing TFC’s blend of established names and emerging prospects.

Since its launch in 2013, TFC has established itself as one of Korea’s premier MMA organizations, serving as a proving ground for athletes who have gone on to compete in the UFC and other major international promotions. The organization is widely recognized for helping develop numerous elite Korean fighters, while also producing international stars such as former UFC women’s strawweight champion Zhang Weili, who competed under the TFC banner earlier in her career.

More than just another numbered event, TFC 22 represented a statement of intent. By launching its own dedicated venue and continuing to showcase a mix of veteran names, international competition, and the next generation of Korean prospects, TFC reinforced its position as one of the country’s most important developmental promotions and a key stepping stone toward the global MMA stage.
