Noche UFC 4 – Jean Silva delivered another memorable performance at Noche UFC 4, overcoming a difficult start before submitting Jose Delgado with a one arm rear naked choke in the third round.
The Brazilian secured the victory at 2:57 of the third round inside Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. The win extended Silva’s winning streak to two fights and strengthened his position among the UFC featherweight division’s leading contenders.
Delgado Starts Strong
Silva entered the Noche UFC 4: main event with his trademark aggressive style, but he initially struggled to find his rhythm. Delgado controlled much of the opening round by keeping his distance and using his striking effectively. Silva spent the first several minutes offering little offense while Delgado picked his moments to attack.
The approach nearly paid off in spectacular fashion when Delgado landed a right hand that dropped Silva. The Mexican American fighter continued to find success with his hands and finished the opening round strongly. Silva therefore entered the second round knowing he needed to change the momentum.

Silva Turns the Fight Around
The Brazilian immediately became more aggressive in the second round. Silva began closing the distance and forcing Delgado toward the cage. He eventually secured a well timed takedown and began working with ground and pound before the two fighters returned to their feet.
Silva continued to apply pressure as the fight progressed. He mixed punches and kicks with more grappling exchanges and even attempted a spinning back elbow. That pressure gradually changed the complexion of the contest. Delgado had looked comfortable early, but Silva was now dictating where the fight took place. The Brazilian carried that momentum into the third round.
A Brutal Finish in Round Three
Silva eventually connected with a powerful right hand that dropped Delgado. The sequence quickly moved to the ground, where Silva took Delgado’s back and attacked with a rear naked choke. Despite having only one arm around his opponent, Silva managed to secure the submission.
Delgado had no choice but to tap at 2:57 of the third round. The finish added another impressive submission to Silva’s growing UFC résumé and capped a fight in which he had to recover from genuine adversity. Rather than allowing the early knockdown to derail him, Silva adjusted his approach, increased his pressure and eventually found the opening he needed.
Brandon Moreno Edges Joseph Morales
The co main event also produced an important result in the flyweight division. Former two time UFC champion Brandon Moreno defeated Joseph Morales by split decision after a competitive three round contest. Both fighters stayed active on the feet and mixed their striking with occasional takedowns.
One judge scored the fight 29 to 28 for Morales, but the other two judges gave the fight to Moreno, including one score of 30 to 27. The victory keeps Moreno involved in the flyweight title picture.
Grasso Strengthens Her Title Case
Alexa Grasso also secured a significant victory, defeating No. 2 ranked Manon Fiorot by unanimous decision. Grasso attacked early with her boxing and dropped Fiorot with a right hook during the opening round. She continued to control much of the second round before Fiorot found more success with body kicks in the final frame.
The late push was not enough, however, as all three judges scored the contest 29 to 28 for Grasso. The victory puts the former champion in a strong position as the women’s flyweight division continues to take shape.
McMillen Remains Unbeaten
Tommy McMillen and Marwan Rahiki produced one of the night’s most competitive fights. Both unbeaten featherweight prospects exchanged heavy strikes throughout the contest. Rahiki dropped McMillen with a counter left hook in the second round, but McMillen recovered and answered with his own knockdown in the third.
McMillen then attacked with several submission attempts before the fight returned to the feet. He ultimately secured a unanimous decision with scores of 29 to 28 twice and 29 to 27, improving his professional record to 12 and 0. Rahiki suffered the first defeat of his career.
Noche UFC 4 also featured several other notable performances, including a 36 second knockout from UFC debutant Sean King and a first round stoppage by Yousri Belgaroui. Thomas Gantt remained unbeaten after submitting Drakkar Klose with an inverted triangle choke in the third round.
For Silva, though, the night belonged to him. He absorbed an early setback, changed his approach and finished the main event with a spectacular submission. Now, his attention turns toward the UFC featherweight championship picture.
