Yeon Woo Kang closes the show with a featherweight victory while Hwan Hyun Lee’s late replacement performance emerges as one of the defining stories of Zeus FC 10.
CHEONGJU, South Korea — Zeus FC 10 took place on June 27 at Olympus Arena in Cheongju, delivering another competitive night of Korean mixed martial arts featuring established regional veterans and rising prospects. Headlined by a featherweight main event between Yeon Woo Kang and Sung Uk Yoon, the card showcased several impressive performances, including a standout victory by Hwan Hyun Lee, who stepped into the event on short notice.
In the evening’s main event, Yeon Woo Kang defeated Sung Uk Yoon in a featherweight contest, securing an important victory atop the promotion’s tenth event. Although the main event capped off the night, one of the card’s most noteworthy performances came earlier from Lee, whose willingness to accept a difficult assignment with limited preparation became one of the event’s defining storylines.
Hwan Hyun Lee Capitalizes on Short-Notice Opportunity

The 63-kilogram catchweight bout between Hwan Hyun Lee, known as “Checkmate,” and Sang Bin Park (“Black Kong”) was originally scheduled to feature Young Sang Park (“Hound”). However, after Park suffered a fracture and withdrew from the contest, Lee accepted the fight with approximately two weeks to prepare.
Despite the circumstances, Lee delivered a composed and technically disciplined performance across three rounds. Utilizing effective movement, measured striking, and consistent cage control, he earned a unanimous decision over Park in what became one of the evening’s most impressive victories.
Short-notice opportunities often present significant challenges, particularly against opponents who have completed full training camps. Lee’s ability to perform at a high level under those conditions demonstrated both his readiness and professionalism, making his victory one of the strongest statements on the card.
Submission Victories Highlight Main Card
The event also featured two submission finishes.
In the lightweight division, Joo Won Wang secured the quickest finish of the main card by submitting Soo Heun Kim with a first-round triangle choke.
Later, flyweight Hyun Gyu Choi earned a hard-fought submission victory over Se Won Kwon, finishing the contest with a rear-naked choke in the third round after a competitive opening two rounds.
The flyweight matchup between Byun Jung-yoon and Jung-ho Lee went the distance, with Byun earning a unanimous decision victory to close out another strong performance in the division.
