Black Combat is bringing its signature fan engagement to Busan, where participants can test their boxing against the promotion’s fighters and potentially earn a showdown with local fan favorite Amugae Kim.
Black Combat is once again taking MMA directly to the fans.
The Korean promotion announced on its official Instagram page that it will host a free public challenge event in Yeongdo-gu, Busan, inviting anyone, excluding professional fighters, to step into the ring and test their striking against members of the Black Combat roster.
Although the event was only recently announced, videos and behind-the-scenes clips have already begun circulating across social media, giving fans an early glimpse of the action. It has also been confirmed that the event will be featured in an upcoming episode on its official YouTube channel.
Two Ways to Challenge Professional Fighters
Participants can choose between two formats.
The first challenge, titled “Human Punching Bag,” allows participants to throw punches for 30 seconds while wearing boxing gloves. During this challenge, the Black Combat fighter does not strike back, allowing participants to showcase their power and technique.
The second option offers a more realistic experience: a one-on-one boxing sparring session against a professional fighter. For safety reasons, all participants must provide their own mouthguard.
The event is free to enter and open to the public regardless of age or gender, although professional combat sports athletes are not eligible.
A Chance to Face Amugae Kim
The biggest incentive announced by Black Combat is the opportunity to face Busan’s Amugae Kim (김아무개).
Participants who impress the promotion by landing clean strikes or demonstrating exceptional boxing ability will receive special prizes. One standout performer may also earn the opportunity to debut under the promotion’s banner and compete against Amugae Kim.
Kim is already a familiar face to many Korean MMA fans. He first gained national attention after appearing on SBS’s Pure Fighter (순정파이터) in 2022. The reality competition searched for local fighters who believed they could compete with professionals, matching them against experienced athletes to test their abilities.
Representing Busan, Kim earned widespread respect with his fearless performance. His appearance impressed a judging panel that included Korean MMA legends Dong Hyun Kim, Chan Sung Jung, and Choo Sung Hoon, helping establish him as one of the show’s memorable breakout personalities.
